Barbecue caddy

Having everything you could possibly need within arms’ reach just might make you the grill king or queen. Build your very own caddy with this 1-hour project.

Measure and cut the wood

  • 1.1 - Measure and cut 3 pieces of pine at 22" long by 3½" wide.
  • 1.2 - Measure and cut 1 piece of pine at 22" long by 9¼" wide.
  • 1.3 - Measure and cut 2 pieces of pine at 11" long by 9¼"wide.
  • 1.4 - Measure and cut the dowel at 22¾" long.

Cut the sides of the caddy

  • 2.1 - On the 9¼" sides, measure 3 3/16" from the corners towards the center. Mark the spots with a pencil.
  • 2.2 - On the 11" sides, measure 4¾" from the corners towards the center. Mark the spots with a pencil.
  • 2.3 - With the angle square, trace a line to connect the spots marked on steps 2.1 and 2.2.
  • 2.4 - Using a circular saw, cut the lines drawn at step 2.3.

Drill the holes in the sides

  • 3.1 - Place the drill bit on the drill.
  • 3.2 - Drill a hole in the middle of the piece of pine, on the short end, at 2" from the top.
  • 3.3 - Drill through half the thickness of the board.

Assemble the base

  • 4.1 - Screw the 3 22" by 3½" boards on the 22" by 9¼" bard.
  • 4.2 - Screw 2 pieces on either side, and one in the middle.

Pro Tip

To hide the screws, secure each piece from underneath.

Assemble the sides

  • 5.1 - Screw one of the extremities into the side and middle pieces of the base.
  • 5.2 - Place the dowel in the hole previously drilled.
  • 5.3 - Put the second extremity into place, making sure that the dowel is in the hole.
  • 5.4 - Screw the extremity into the side and middle pieces of the base.

Decorate the caddy

  • 6.1 - Add your personal touch and enjoy BBQ season!
