Recycled Wood Headboard

A big advantage of being good with your hands is the ability to personalize your space. Put your talents to action to build a double headboard out of recycled wood. See the plan for plank dimensions and the assembly instructions.

Material

Recycled wood panels 96" x 48" x ½" plywood Screws 2 ½"4 - 1" x 3" x 8' planks

Tools

Assembling the support

1.1 - Measure and cut the sheet of plywood as to have a 36" x 60" piece. Place it on the ground to ease the build.
1.2 - Measure and cut 2 – 1" x 3" x 8' at 55".
1.3 - Measure and cut 2 – 1" x 3" x 8' at 54".
1.4 - Secure the 2 – 54" planks on either side of the plywood, and the 2 – 55" planks at the top and bottom of the sheet.

2. Assembling the panels

2.1 - Secure the first row of panels, making sure to cover the wood from the support structure.
2.2 - Secure each row, alternating the lengths of the panels to avoid matching joints.

Pro Tip

Various wood essences can be used according to budget.
There are many layout options: horizontal, vertical, alternating, chevron, etc.

Secure the headboard to the wall

3.1 - Secure the headboard to the wall according the height of the bed frame. Solidify using anchors if needed.
